Road Improvements
The Transportation Committee is actively working with Virginia House Delegate David Englin and Lee District Supervisor Dana Kauffmann to complete the road improvement project. Beyond road improvements the committee is also working to get the sidewalks and subsystems replaced as recommended in the Jefferson Manor Public Improvements Master Plan from 1992. Below is some of the documentation used in our efforts.
Summary: Photos of roadway conditions with descriptions for Ablemarle Drive, Edgehill Drive, Fairhaven Avenue and Monticello Road. These streets are a part of the uncompleted sections of the "Jefferson Manor Public Improvements Master Plan." Fort Drive and Williamsburg Road (also uncompleted) were not a part of this report due to the current utility work. See also Jefferson Manor Roadway Conditions Map below.
Summary: This map marks the location of the photos taken in the "Jefferson Manor Roadway Conditions Report."
Summary: Photos of roadway conditions on Fort Drive and Williamsburg Road due to recent utility work. Fort Drive photos begin with "UTIL-FOR"; Williamsburg Road photos begin with "UTIL-WIL".
Summary: Delegate David Englin, Lee District Supervisor Dana Kauffman, and Virginia Secretary of Transportation Pierce Homer met July 5, 2006 to discuss the remaining road improvements due to Jefferson Manor. The price tag for the work is $17 million, well above the budget the Virginia General Assembly is willing to approve. Secretary Homer is arranging for VDOT to "pavement index" our streets to obtain the empirical data necessary to compete for state money.
Summary: In 1994, this map was copied from the 1992 "Jefferson Manor Public Improvements Master Plan" document by a member of the JMCA to document the status of the phases.
Summary: The purpose of this study is to inventory existing public facilities to evaluate and assess their condition, and to develop a detailed Public Improvements Master Plan. The goals of the Master Plan are to develop recommendations:
1. To improve roadways, sidewalks, and drainage.
2. To improve parking and traffic circulation.
3. To recommend priorities and construction phasing.
4. To estimate approximate improvement costs.
