Parking Decal

We live in a Fairfax County Residential Permit Parking District (RPPD), which means that If you or your visitors park on the street without a decal, you may be ticketed. There are 5 types of decals & passes for on-street parking:

  1. Vehicle Decals (Valid for 2 years)
  2. Visitor Passes (One per household)
  3. 30-Day Passes (If you just moved in)
  4. Vehicle Exemption Passes (granted by police/FCDOT)
  5. Non-Resident Owner Passes (Issued to remodel/repair)

RPPD restrictions do not apply to public agency vehicles, marked service/delivery vehicles, vehicles with temporary tags, or non-motorized vehicles such as trailers and boats (however, there are separate regulations regarding parking watercraft, boat trailers, motor homes, camping trailers, and large commercial vehicles).

Your vehicle must be registered with the Fairfax County Department of Transportation at a Jefferson Manor street address to receive a parking decal.

To register for a parking decal or pass, call the Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) at 703-324-1100 (TTY: 703-324-1102) and have your SSN or driver's license number handy. For additional information, you may also call the above number or e-mail RPPD@FairfaxCounty.gov.
