Fairfax Government Buildings

Most of the Fairfax County government buildings are located on the other side of the county, primarily around Government Center Parkway within the city of Fairfax. Elected Officials

The Jefferson Manor neighborhood is in the Mount Eagle Precinct (408) in the Lee District of Fairfax County. We vote at the Mount Eagle Elementary School, which is located at 6116 N. Kings Highway (go right on N. Kings Highway towards Rt. 1). The Virginia State Board of Elections has additional information about voting and registering to vote.

Jefferson Manor is in the 8th Congressional District. Our congressional representatives are:

Jefferson Manor is in Virginia Senate District 30. Our State Senator is Patricia Ticer.

Local

Although most of us have Alexandria mailing addresses, all of Jefferson Manor is in Fairfax County (not city, just county). A more complete overview of the Fairfax County government system is available at the Fairfax County government website.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors is comprised of 10 members: a Chairman, elected at large, and nine Supervisors elected from different districts. Our neighborhood is in the Lee District, which is currently represented by Supervisor Jeff McKay (his website has a number of links to local government information). We are also represented by Chairwoman Sharon Bulova, who holds the only "at-large" Supervisor seat for the county.

The Fairfax County School Board is comprised of 12 members. Our Lee District board member is Brad Center. We also can vote for the 3 at-large positions, which are currently held by Ilryong Moon, Martina Hone, and James Raney.

• Police Department: Join the Jefferson Manor Neigborhood Watch to learn more information about any incidents in our neighborhood or surrounding areas. In an Emergency, Call 911. For Non-Emergencies, Call 703-691-2131.
  
  
• Fairfax District Court: handles most traffic citations, criminal misdemeanors, small claims, violations of local ordinances.
  
  
• Fairfax County Department of Consumer Protection: complaints about businesses, price gouging. If you have a complaint about a business, you can also contact the Virginia Attorney General’s Consumer Assistance division at 703-359-1121 (Northern Virginia office).

Commonly requested government information

• Libraries: The Sherwood Regional Library is the largest library near us in Fairfax County. Mary Washington on Fort Hunt Rd. is also nearby, near the Belle View shopping center. Beatley Central Library: Fairfax residents are also permitted to use Alexandria libraries. Alexandria’s very large central libary is located near us on Duke St, going west a few minutes past Quaker Lane.
