Local

Although most of us have Alexandria mailing addresses, all of Jefferson Manor is in Fairfax County (not city, just county). A more complete overview of the Fairfax County government system is available at the Fairfax County government website.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors is comprised of 10 members: a Chairman, elected at large, and nine Supervisors elected from different districts. Our neighborhood is in the Lee District, which is currently represented by Supervisor Jeff McKay (his website has a number of links to local government information). We are also represented by Chairwoman Sharon Bulova, who holds the only "at-large" Supervisor seat for the county.

The Fairfax County School Board is comprised of 12 members. Our Lee District board member is Brad Center. We also can vote for the 3 at-large positions, which are currently held by Ilryong Moon, Martina Hone, and James Raney.

Check here for the Schedule and agenda for upcoming Board meetings, as well as agendas of past Board meetings. Board meetings can be seen live on Fairfax County Government Cable Channel 16, which is also videostreamed on the Internet.
