Remodeling? Take Pictures!
Because the basic structures of Jefferson Manor homes were all identical, you don’t have to just imagine what a remodeling project would look like in your own house: you can view pictures of a neighbor’s house to see how it might look in your house! We hope to provide a database of pictures of different remodeled houses. If you have any pictures that you would be willing to share, please send them to homeimprovement@JeffersonManor.org.
In addition, we would like to keep a running list of “how to” questions and answers gathered from the listserv messages. We hope to provide a space where neighbors can pass on tips and ideas to other neighbors (although we would welcome professional advice!). Ideally, we’ll be able to gather pictures of the various stages of some projects, so don’t forget to record the process of your projects as well as the results!
Contractor Database
With so many people doing renovations and home improvements, the Home Improvement Committee would like to create a database of reputable contractors to make all of our searches and choices easier. If you have had a great contractor experience, contact
homeimprovement@JeffersonManor.org; provide the contractor name, type of work, and your contact information for use as a reference. Once a list has been compiled, it will be available upon request to JMCA members.
Help Crew
We are also creating a Help Crew list. This is a “bank” of volunteers to help neighbors with various projects including: heavy and light lifting, gardening, painting, etc. If you are interested in helping a fellow neighbor, please sign up at the general meeting or contact homeimprovement@JeffersonManor.org. Once we have volunteers, requests will be taken.
House of the Month
And, of course, we are always looking for the House of the Month; contact homeimprovement@JeffersonManor.org with nominations.
